Dictum of the day, or on the unjustifiable opposition

To begin with, the Court is aware of the fact that Sarajevo, where most military flats are situated, was subjected to blockades, day-to-day shelling and sniping throughout the war. There is also much evidence of direct and indirect participation by the VJ forces in military operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This explains strong local opposition to the return to their pre-war homes of those who served in the VJ forces, but it does not justify it.

Case of Đokić v. Bosnia and Herzegovina, European Court of Human Rights, Application no. 6518/04, 27 May 2010, para. 60 (internal citations omitted)
